Auto Insurance Discounts

There are several discount programmes offered by many insurance companies, which we summarized below. Availability of each discount, discount rates and age requirements may vary by insurance company and by state, indeed. Also be aware that certain types vehicles may not qualify, you should always check with your insurance provider.

Anti-Theft Discount

Vehicles equipped with an alarm or anti-theft device may save you money on your Comprehensive Coverage.

Defensive Driver Discount

If you successfully complete a state-approved motor vehicle defensive driving course, you may be eligible for a special discount.

Driver Training Discount

If you successfully complete a state-approved driver’s education course if you are under 21, you may save part of your insurance payments. Certain vehicles may not qualify for this discount.

Engaged Couple Discount

Some insurance companies have great rates for engaged couples. If you are engaged to be married within a certain period of time (typically 12 months), one of you is at least 21 years old, and you insure all eligible vehicles with the same insurance provider, you may qualify for a discount.

Good Student Discount and College Graduate Discount

High school or college students that maintain a certain (usually B or better) average may be eligible to receive a discount. Some providers also offer a discount to college graduates regardless of their grade point average (GPA). Be aware, however, that certain vehicles may not qualify.

Multi-Car Discount

If you insure two or more cars with the same insurance providet, you may qualify for a Multi-Car discount. Often, when parents qualify for this discount, the discount can be extended to unmarried drivers under age 25 who move away from home.

Multi-Policy Discount

Save on your auto premium if you have another qualifying policy or investment product with us. The discount may also be exteded to unmarried children under age 25 who live elsewhere.

New Vehicle Discount

If you purchase a new-model-year car or truck, you could qualify for up to a 10 percent discount.

Occupation Discount

To give back to those who contribute so much to our community, first responders (Firefighters, Police Officers, Emergency Medical Technicians, and Paramedics) and teachers may qualify for the Occupation Discount offered by some insurance companies.

Teen Driver Discount

Some insurance companies also offer Teen Driver Discounts, an additional savings for families with kids. Newly licensed drivers may qualify for a discount, usually by completing a special course.
