About Magna Steyr

Magna Steyr (properly Magna Steyr Fahrzeugtechnik AG & Co KG ) is an automobile manufacturer based in Oberwaltersdorf, Austria. It is a subsidiary of Canadian-based Magna International, and was previously part of the Steyr-Daimler-Puch conglomerate.

Magna Steyr assembles automobiles for other companies on a contractual basis; therefore, Magna Steyr is not an automobile marque. Recently it absorbed Daimler AG's Eurostar vehicle assembly facility. The company's vehicle assembly capacity reached 200,000 vehicles a year.

Magna Steyr developed Mercedes-Benz's "4MATIC" all wheel drive system and assembles all E-Class 4Matic models. The company also did substantial development on the BMW X3 and manufactures all X3s.

Historic production:

  • Audi
  • Fiat
  • 1994–1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • Mercedes-Benz M-Class
  • Volkswagen Golf Country (1990 - 1991)
  • Volkswagen Transporter Syncro (1984 - 1992)

Tips and tricks for lowering car insurance costs in Great Britain

If you’re trying to finesse the lowest price of car insurance in Great Britain, there are a few things to watch out for. Car insurance marketing is clever. Its aim is to make you feel you’re getting the best deal but to maximise the insurer’s profit at the same time.

Get a ‘new’ quote from your existing insurer
