About Knox

Knox Automobile Company was a manufacturer of automobiles in Springfield, Massachusetts between 1900 and 1914. They made farm tractors until 1924.

The 1904 Knox was a runabout model. It could seat 2 passengers and sold for US$1350. The flat-mounted air-cooled single-cylinder engine, situated at the center of the car, produced 8 hp (6 kW). A 2-speed planetary transmission was fitted. The angle iron-framed car weighed 1850 lb (839 kg) and used side springs.

A larger model, equipped with a tonneau, was also produced for US$2000. It used a straight-2 engine producing 16 hp (11.9 kW).

For example, the Porsche 911 tops the list as the most expensive car to insure. A person could pay $2,943.78 a year . . . and that’s with a clean driving record. The Dodge Caliber is the least expensive car to insure.

Another factor that affects your insurance is where you live. Washington DC has the most expensive insurance cost–$1,140 a year. North Dakota, on the other hand, is home of the least expensive insurance, at a cost of $512 a year.
